Hi Pete, I sent you a PM with regards your wagon turntable. cheers. Meanwhile I have purchased another. This one comes from Kirkwood Hill Models and its motorised. It comes as a plywood kit ..... with no destructions ..... booooooo. I'm sure I'll get the idea though. Must say its a very nice kit. I'll post up a few pictures later. cheers toto
York Show will be a good place for Toto to come then... its held on the Knavesmire which is the racecourse !
I'd better saddle up then ..... the pictures of the Kirkwood Hill motorised turntable as promised ..... as it comes packaged ..... and again ....... a rather nice plywood etched construction. the various base parts ....... motor mount and doobries ......... clearer one of the motor mount etc ........ and the motor, gears, shaft and stuff ..... But ........... no destructions ....... not so good but I'm sure I'll suss it out. cheers toto
Looks like a nice kit Toto But this no instructions thing is getting very annoying I got a box of bits electricky stuff the other day with no info or instructions when I contacted the company they just said it’s on the web site. But there was no mention on or in the package re this or when I purchase the item no sign on the display saying info and instructions not included see web site.
Yes especially if there is any kind of technical content in the build. Never mind. Ordered some more corrugated sheets as well for my carriage shed build. I tried it before but the result was not great. my fault not the material. I fancy having another go though. Second time lucky hopefully. cheers Toto
That wagon turntable looks the business, Toto. Maybe there are instructions online on their website? I don't suppose they do them in N gauge?
ooops, just noticed someone has already suggested the website..... EDIT: See here - http://www.kitwoodhillmodels.com/instructions-documentation-policy/ Did you get an email from them?
Hi scotty, yes. I should have post back sooner. I received a very nice email from them with a PDF of the instructions which look quite clear and good wishes with the build. It was explained also that the instructions are on the site for downloading. So .... many thanks kitwood Hill for their very speedy and polite response. It looks a very nice product. well finished. Not sure about N Gauge but I guess you'll have looked by now having the link. cheers Scotty
Nice kit Toto. A man of your calibre and intellect could have put that together blind folded... Cheers, Gary.
I'ts a wee bit finicky but it it'll make a nice kit. some fine detail in the wood so it will need to be a fine spray for painting to try and keep the detail. When the hole is cut out the baseboard it will need to be neat but a little room for movement in the wood as well to prevent it being damaged if the baseboard swells a little as the kit is quite fine. cheers toto
Looks like a beautiful little kit, that deck should look great. Maybe consider wood stain rather than paint it'll accentuate the detail rather than cover it.
and the Darkside has the info you need to motorise it with a stepper motor Arduino - Stepper drive Paul
If you don't want to use Colron, do a few washes of thinned down paint, say 4 parts thinners to one part paint. Gradually build the colour up and/or use different colours from browns, greys and black, even yellow. Cheers, Gary.
I'm thinking that any reasonable progress aimed at this weekend is off. Brrrr far too cold. I could dare venture into the shed in order to take a couple of dimensions that I need. would need to don the wellies though. I'll see. time for a hot coffee. toto
Hey, has anyone heard from Toto since he ducked out to the shed...?? Maybe he is a new garden ornament in the yard, one that becomes animated in the summer... Cheers, Gary.
