see if this comes out ok. new track plan. lets see ...... yep. the two circles are wagon turntables into the old wagon works before the modern extension ..... sort of. toto
erm ....... which one of those single tracks on the left hand side connects to the single track extension ?
I like the first one too Toto with the help of Paul's 'hard dinna y'know' those turntables will be spinning like tops. Ian vt
I like 'em both, but the bottom one would be a quicker build if you are looking to get into an exhibition in the near future. It would be my choice. But at the end of the day its got to satisfy you! I will still enjoy the build whichever (still plenty of time to change your mind and wind Paul up) you choose. Cheer's, Pete.
Looking good, only suggestion I can offer, is to swap the point in the carriage works for a double slip to give a head shunt, that will allow you to shunt the carriage works, while running through the layout. Paul
...but at the same time allowing a loco or wagon to stand in the head shunt and allow another engine to shunt the siding (with adequate space between the standing loco and the moving train...) Cheers, Gary.
The carriage works should be imposing, but if you move the track back a bit and shorten the front siding, you could place a water tank and / or oil tank to help hide the train exiting the layout, and also maybe have the old workshop as a timber processing maybe with a small loading bay on the head shunt, after all your wagon works will need planks for repairs. Paul
OK, its off to B &Q ....... just as soon as I have had my coffee and buttie with bacon, sausage, tattie scone and fried egg. Mmmmm Ohhh and broon sos. cheers toto
