Thanks very much, he sneaked that one in, that is a complete surprise. May try some smoke powder on the roof, well rubbed in with tissue, will post details later. Paul
Is there no end to our FLOUNDERS ability, he now configures the picture of the week. One less job for you Paul
Some how I can't see that lasting Paul PS - after todays events at work I may need to take up Pic of the week professionally
paul_l wrote: Thats not good, I had the same here configuring HIS, (by HIS you know who I mean) new server, got it in the end but had to use Debian. So its :- Debian[/*] IspConfig[/*] MairiaDB version 10.1[/*] PHP 5.6 or PHP 7[/*] Should run pretty fast
I had to get two fibre's cut, re-routed to make way for a trucking route. Fibre tested and ok, but the switch wasn't responding, 2 hours later, 2 port changes on the coreswitch, it was decided that the edgeswitch had decided to give up the ghost - only the fibre side of it !!! 1st job monday, get the spare out and configured, before the natives get too restless - its a whole building out. Now picture of the month...... Paul
Cheap is relative, but at £4K ish a piece, not what I'd call cheap, even the flounder would baulk at that. Mind you the flounder baulks at connecting 1 PC to a network never mind hundreds. Be-arch of the week as well, boy am I picking up the awards this week, and when I get into work on Monday, Plank of the week will be waiting as well. Paul
paul_l wrote: will that be in 'O', 'N', 'Z' or some other gauge, will look forward to reading about that in the "Planks" section, can we have a video too please.
Started lining up the next victim - Lima CCT Actually this looked quite good as it was, but hey...... Did the same as before - black wash down the panel lines, but then gave an overall dark brown wash, then a liberal amount of neat thinners. Once fully dry I will intrduce streaks. Powders yet to be applied. Moving on to the main event 1 x Lima Mk1 BG, 2 x Mainline 50ft BG's and a Lima Siphon (I think), all in BR blue. Stripped down, and put into a container of neat Dettol - the original brown smelly one. This will take a couple of days - if it works, if not then the dettol will be replaced with caustic soda. The man cave has a decidedly 70's hospital smell, makes a change from the usuall man cave smells - glue, paint etc etc. Took the opportunity to order flush glazing for the Mainline BG's, Lima BG's and the Replica BG's. Air brush and compressor dug out, trip to Hobby craft got some Tamiya Flat Grey primer, and Tamiya X-20A acrylic thinner, so should be ready to go once the paint is stripped off the models. Paul
Hi Paul, Could the shells not have come off the undercarriage or did you want to strip it all ? Cheers Toto
Now your bad language issue has been sorted - supposed to lead by example my ........... The Lima BG the chassis and body are one unit, the roof has the glazing built in. The others all have seperate chassis. The Lima Siphon or GUV (I need correcting on this) has the buffers as part of the chassis, so can get the Kadee's fitted before the body is refitted. One of the Mainline BG has plastic wheels so these will be replaced as with the Lima wheels. Well the dettol is starting to work on the Mainline BG's. Paul
If your looking for an expert, your on the wrong thread ...... I'm a novice with a brush, but you've got to learn sometime. Paul
Ahhhhhhh ....... Modest to the end. You can't fool us. I'm sure all these misspent years graffitting buildings will put you in good stead. Paul roolz ok
