Bogie painted up today, I've picked the pipes out in white and the axle box covers in yellow. Of course more coats to come.
I've also painted the wheel sides Matt black.

Looks Good Steve the detail parts are nice additions and will make your model stand out from the crowd.

Your right on top of these latest RTR models
Will have to start calling them Ready to Rebuild :avatar:

    Thanks Chris
That's the way I look at them! It's nice to customise them to make them an individual model. I have to admit though it's getting harder as the models are getting better all the time.

I'll stick with the basics thanks. If I can get the sound chip and speaker fitted I'll be quite happy. I'd just mess it up.

Another coat of paint this morning, once these have dried I will give them a blast of dullcote to tone them down then it's the red stripes on the axle box covers

Bogie sides are pretty much done now besides a re coat of the red stripe!
Whilst I wait for the castings from JLTRT I shall move on to adding plates, frost grills & transfers.

WR pattern lamp brackets fitted today along with the first grills. I stuck these on with very fine strips of double sided sellotape

    Impressive Steve.

Steve who do you use to get custom name plates made. I'm wanting to get some name plates made up for my industrial loco's.

    Thanks
    Paul

Narrow planet, they do a large selection of industrial plates and custom orders, highly recommended

That's it for the 37 until the castings come and that may be a week or two yet.

Looking through some pictures of the prototype last night and I noticed a few extra bits I could do, firstly a series of four pipes behind the bogie.
I used the same 0.5mm wire for these. The second is a bar that joins the brakes together. This is a slightly thicker wire. Of course it needs to be trimmed down but that will be done on final assembly.
I've also rubbed the buffers back down as I think my silver paint was passed it!! I shall get some more and redo them.
