    Paul,

That colour is even more hideous than the infamous Apricot that I think only Rob appreciated but a lovely cranky looking wagon. I've never really got into the time line function, something I must correct, as for sketch naming I seem to set off with good intentions and sensible names and it slowly deteriates through odd random names to sketch nn, like you I must do better.

I'm getting practice, I had an issue yesterday with stl exports, and eventually restarted the program, all seemed ok, but when I started up the program today I was offered a restore point of 11am yesterday, as I had been working way beyond that point I thought nah, **gg** I lost all the changes yesterday and had to do them again. At least this time I knew the sketch number.

Away to warm up the resin and printers, test print the new supports and a one piece lower floor.

As for the Green resin, colour is rank, but it seems to cure all issues, this is the resin colour Std or in this case ABS, that I change to when I have exposure issues, being clear some uv light passes through to the previous layer and helps with curing - also tends to need less exposure or lower power setting.

As Arnie would say "I'll be Back"

The stl export problem has been going on for a few days and I have been doing the same as you close and restart. Just an observation, if you don't rename the stl from it's default it seems to work more often than not, you just have to remember to rename the result before a new stl export, guess how I know?

Ah I found a way around exporting to create an stl file, and gives better results

Select the object you wsh to export - either a single body or a component. Right click on the object and select Save As Mesh

    upload_2023-11-9_16-48-39.png

In the selector box that pops up

    upload_2023-11-9_16-50-26.png
Change Format to STL (ASCI) there is also ASCI (Binary) not tried that one and the ASCI version appears to work with Chitubox.
I also changed the Refinement value to High - creates a more detailed file. Seemingly the Cloud version uses the lower version.
    Select OK
A Save As popup box appears, click on Save to my computer and give it the location

    upload_2023-11-9_16-55-9.png

A few seconds later the file is saved.

Wish I'd found this a long time ago, the amount of time I've wasted twiddling my thumbs waiting for the cloud service to complete.

45 mins for another green goddess to complete printing and 150mins for the big yin to complete 2 grey versions.

That's how my version of Fusion used to work, but I am now getting 'go forth and multiply' type messages so currently have reverted to the old snail way.

You know when you say something isn't working and you go back and try again, well the 'save as mesh' is working again, I wonder if the new version (yesterday) has fixed (or more likely unscrewed someone's bodged handy work) because it's now working.

Have you noticed how much bigger the .stl files are, Rob's lost wax printer refers to this option as creating a high definition stl.

PS I have got support in chitu, slice in workshop working and a successful print. As you might guess workshop isn't use friendly but hey ho it means I can now use the Mono 2.

I'll have to play with workshop, currently supporting and slicing in Chitu. Export the supported .stl file and just slice in workshop to get an idea of the cure time.

Down to 1C outside the shed, 7C in the shed. but the heater had the enclosure at a toasty 24C.

Both sets of prints were sucessful, and the one piece lower floor works.

A few piccies - the grey one is more photogenic

Prints have just been cleaned, supports removed and given a 4 min cure.

I can't see the chain links for the door latches :(

Upper floor supports from the underside

    And from above

    with the floor in place

    Upper floor again

Finally the one piece lower floor.

I have the feeling painting of these will be interesting. I think a lot of the painting will need to be pre-assembly. And insertion of the cargo.

Need to look for some 3D sheep to print - I'm gonna need a lot

    Paul,

Love it, a bit of a tour de force, I think we need to dub you Sir Sheep of Dundee. I look forward to seeing it fully assembled. If you find any free 3d sheep please let me know, they would be really useful. I've been hunting for 3D cattle but they are all Frisian's, I need something more UK typical of the late 19th century, the search goes on.

    Brian,

Thanks for the link, I found the cows but missed the sheep. The sheep are much better than his cows.

    Cheers Brian

They're N scale, so will see how they upscale,

    also found these https://www.printables.com/model/530060-sheep

    upload_2023-11-10_10-3-41.png

Now a silly question, what is the average height of sheep - google to the rescue

    upload_2023-11-10_10-6-29.png

Domestic Sheep have a standing shoulder height between 31.5”-47.2” (80-120 cm), overall body length from 47.2”-70.9” (120-180 cm), standing height of roughly 37”-54.3” (94-138 cm), and a body width of 17.3”-26” (44-66 cm). The weight of a Domestic Sheep is between 99-287 lb (45-130 kg).

Jeezy peeps, you just never know where this hobby will take you :avatar:

Using the second sheep - these had more of a texture.

From the above information for overall body length of 1.2m to 1.8m in 7mm thats approx 27.6mm to 41.4mm.
Loaded the model into Chitu box and rescaled the model to approx 29mm, 34mm & 38mm.
Then made a mirror copy of each and duplicated them.

    upload_2023-11-10_10-45-43.png

Looks like I have a 3 hour wait for the start of the flock.

I've downloaded all the files for the other sheep, in the supplied pdf are scaling factors - and will need a bit of playing with, but he includes sheep going up and down slopes, which will be handy for a static version at the loading bank.

When I download the curly sheep I only get one model sheep how did you get 3?
Which axis did you scale to 29mm?

Little more of an update - I thought they appeared a little too big, so thought I'd compare them to the other files.

The model creator Slanjonok, suggests re-scaling by 308% but this is for Continental / US O gauge for 1:48, just to be awkward we model at 1:43.5 This gives a scaling factor of 340%.

Yep my resized were massive compared to the re-scaled others. The Curly sheep are now scaled at 25% ish - some up some down from this.

    upload_2023-11-10_11-44-14.png

I've included 4 of the other sheep, so I'll be able to compare the results.

    upload_2023-11-10_11-54-19.png

Bit more tweakin, the flocks up to 39 and will take a couple of hours - of course that is Chitu time real time is longer

Just to be awkward continental O is 1:45 Us O is 1:48....

Late to the party but I use the timeline function all the time to save having to create millions of sketches just go back and edit those that you have.

Naming of sketches, bodies and also any planes that you create, really makes life easier as you create more complex items.
