    Hi,
All three trestles built and tightened up a bit. Paint bought for kitchen ( part of deal ) Bought a variety of nuts, bolts, T nuts, wing nuts and washers.
O Gauge figures arrived from Monty's models ....... it's all go at the moment. Shad to tidy up next before resuming layout wiring and boring trestle supports to take timber bearers.
    have fun.

Say the magic word ......... let me in ....... and ........ hey presto,
    [IMG]

finished a little wiring under this board and installed my NCE, UTP panel.

i have a couple of links to go between the baseboards but thought I'd wait until tomorrow before bringing baseboard two into the kitchen and completely take over it. :avatar:However, the seed has been sown and initial reception has been good. Now ...... where are my Deans connectors.Meanwhile, i could not resist this,
    [IMG]

a bit out of focus but you get the idea.
    cheers until tomorrow.

:scratchchin: mmmmmm ..... Yes ....... Look .... No nets. Needless to say some buffer stops are the order of the day. Having a o wait for swmbo so washing to stop. The baseboards block the machine door. Half an hour or so.

The turntable " pit " is being turned into a canal basin with tunnel mouths either side for barges to disappear through. There will be loading bays either side as well. A bit of a plan coming together now. However, today's task of finishing of the electrics comes first in order to test the track out. ....... I think I know what I'm doing. ....... No goats though. Sorry Ian. ..... Maybe some rats though.:avatar:

Need to get myself to the doc's and get inoculated against veils disease. :avatar:

    Just posing.

There is no way the DC transformer that I was using previously would move that. It couldn't cope with the 25.:avatar:

    Hi,
excellent progress made on Luib Bridge today. the wiring is now complete with all points, mains, circuit breaker and controls in place. However ........ there is a glitch. The switch 8 doesn't appear to be kicking in. :scratchchin:
It will be something simple but need to read through the paperwork to see where I've went wrong.
Meanwhile, here is a few photo's of todays shift.

base boards bolted together and another two bolts and T nuts added for good measure,
    [IMG]

rock solid ......... and from the other side with the T nuts.

Now ........... to solder up some deans connectors for the mains and the cobalt control wires from the switch 8 to traverse the two boards.

things are getting a little messy now.

    however we are getting there.

much easier to work with this on its side,
    [IMG]

four pairs of cables from the switch 8 ........[IMG]
    to the cobalts.........

Now for the Auto reverser / circuit breaker ( wired to act as a CB until my roundy / leccy / doofer arrives from China ).
    And its screwed in place.
[IMG] and the mains is wired to it with a spare connection to run to the turntable when the time comes. That will be on its own direct circuit.

    One of the deans connector
    [IMG]

    and another looooooooong shot.

and the rear of the UTP,
    [IMG]

and the Power cab plugged in,
    [IMG]

    and the gubbins,
    [IMG]

The power is on. Power through the circuit breaker but and the handset but no sign of life on the switch 8.
So, I need to investigate further to let me get the cobalts programmed and firing from the power cab handset.
I'll be back later with the results.
    hope you enjoyed

Try a direct feed from the sb5 to the switch8.

If that works, then it will a dry soldered connection, screw terminal connection issue or dodgy piece of wire, if it doesn't work then it points to a faulty switch 8 unit.

    Paul

PS really good progress, whats the kerfew on clearing the kitchen, or are you cooking tonight (carry out again :giggle:)

    Hi Paul,
I tried a direct feed to the switch 8 and it lit up so I reckon there is a dodgy joint or something. My time in the kitchen is up so need to dismantle. Looks like its fault finding next weekend.
I was hoping to have the programming of the switch 8 done as I could then operate points and maybe have had a wee run as well.
not to be ....... at least its all ready for it once I find he fault.
    time to clear up .
    cheers

Here is the draft idea for the start of the scenics. Still a bit to go yet

The Orange line along the top is a coal screening plant. When I changed file type for uploading, it cut s bit off ..... apologies.
The yellow dots inside the well are lights and the orange strips along the top and bottom are tunnel openings. there will be another loading crane to the far right when the next baseboard is built.
    more later

    Thanks Chris.

It's quite novel but believe able. I've been looking at some Coal type buildings with regards to screening plants as well for the top platform area. Big but basic as they tend to be big sheds with very few openings etc.

Once I get my electrics programmed and find the current fault ( which I suspect to be a short somewhere ) I can bash on with the scenic spots and structures etc.

    Cheers

    Toto
