    Hi Chris,

I'm pleased with it. A little bit more to do in it. May be tonight, I'll see. It's great getting rid of all the clutter. the O gauge will eventually break out into the garden but that's for further down the road.

    Cheers

Nothing done on Luib Bridge today. I spent a bit time at the folks and was a bit sore in the joints after that as a result of forgetting to take my medication before I went. So although I was in the shed, nothing of any worth was done. Just a little more planning and prep.
Tomorrow, a tip trip and shopping trip then I might get a start on the cobalt fitting for the point on the bridge. some intricate surgery required there. :avatar:
I'll keep you all posted with my progress
    cheers

I have just caught up on everything from the previous four pages. Great strides have certainly been taken. The shed is looking as good as your chair !

Won't be long now before we see a train running the rails of Luib Bridge. Yes, it has been long awaited, but it also has been worth the wait ! Keep the great work coming and I'll be looking forward to see how you tackle the bridge section...

Oh, just one thing, the hammer... :scratchchin:

I thought you may have up-sized the hammer due to up-sizing the scale of your railway... :avatar::avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.

    Hi Gary,

Paul took the sledge hammer off me ...... Don't know why. :avatar:

I have some great plans for Luib Bridge which shall sprout from the canal basin. I need to get the cobalt and general wiring fitted / connected then I'm good to go again. I think you'll like what I have in mind. Maybe not to your standard but it will be passable I'm sure.

I'll also be tackling my first etched brass kit to give me something to move between when I need to take time out.

There will be a few interfaces between various buildings and landscaping jobs which I shall call on your magic to help me out on. One or two bits which I am not sure how to bring together so keep your eye open.:avatar:

    Cheers

Domestics done, tip, supermarket, visitor and dog walking. I believe it's shed time. Let's see what SWMBO believes :avatar:

    Wish me luck.

As mentioned above ...... a trip to the shed was had. :avatar:
I started looking at my Cobalt installation.

X marks the spot. I was having to cut a hole out of the underside of the baseboard as this area will be non accessible once the bridge and scenics are done.

Above is the victim. A hole had been cut beneath the point as it was installed yesterday but for some reason it was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy out. I seam to remember Paul doing that bit.:avatar: So, I had to lift the track to the right of it and the point itself in order to get the hole in the correct space to allow the actuator pin the room to fire the point back and forth.

A picture of the Cobalt sitting on top of the point. dont ask me why.

The hole was marked up roughly.

Then the jigsaw came for a visit.

The Cobalt was offered up to the underside of the baseboard feeding the actuator pin through the points tie bar. Double sided sticky tape was used to hold it in place whilst I screwed two fixing screws in place.

And there we have it. The cobalt installed and ready to wire up, programme into the Switch8 and test.
I should be allowed out to the shed tonight to do that part ......... if I eat all my dinner. :avatar:I also have the additional track feeds etc as installed yesterday to solder onto the main track BUS. Not a big job. With a little bit of luck, we should be running trains again tomorrow night or Tuesday night depending on what else gets in the way.
If I'm not in the shed later, I'll maybe post up with some details on what is happening with the canal basin area.
    Cheers for now

A bit more done, the last for tonight.

All th necessary cables are now in place. track feeds ( red and Blacks ) The polarity switch wire for the points ( white ) and the positive and negative for the polarity switching for the points ( green and grey .

fed along the side hollow of the scenic board and .........

    out the other side.

stored coiled at the moment because I need to find my Deans connectors.

to take the green and grey over the baseboard join ...........

To the switch 8. The red and blacks all go to the main track BUS.

The brown and blue 2.5mm mains cable used for the BUS. Which in turn ...........

is protected by the above circuit breaker.
So, thats it for now. I'll rake out the deans connectors and solder them on to the polarity wires and solder the track feeds to the main track BUS.
Once I've done that, its reconnect the mains including the circuit breaker protection module and fire the system up. Some track cleaning will be required as well as the track is filthy.
    cheers for now.

All that extra wire under the baseboard for polarity switching... Peco had designed their O gauge points so that you could place a micro switch inside of that actuator box, that you removed the cover off...

C'mon now, wheres the video... :scratchchin: No, not one of the points firing, I would like to see a Terrier doing laps ! :D

    Cheers, Gary.

It'll come Gary. Should have the power on tonight. I'll need to programme in the additional points and then it should be all go.

In saying that, the track needs a good clean as well. It's absolutely filthy. I'd doubt anything would run on it.

    Cheers

It'll happen. I have had to spend a little time indoors as I'm finding myself doubling up on medication due to pains in my hips and legs. I'll hopefully be out on Wednesday as tomorrow is SWMBO's dancing class.

An early cot tonight I think.

Nothing going on at the moment. It looks like Saturday before I return to the shed. No big deal, I'll forge ahead again. Good thing is, there will be running trains.

I'll post up a short video hopefully.

    Cheers

    Toto.
