If you did'nt want to shell out for buffers a carefully placed mattress or 2 might help .. thus ... the teddy bear is for when things really go wrong!

Well, The switch8 is programmed and things are running but not reliably at the moment. We seem to be cutting out at points ( that were working smoothly previously ) which to me suggests a conflict with polarity. I think with changing from the powercab to the power pro it means that things need to be set from scratch and that includes getting the polarity at the points balanced again. It is just some of them and there is a section in the destructions for the switch 8 that' let's you reverse the polarity in the switch rather than physically changing the cables over. I am going off to change some currency this afternoon do I'll deal with it when I get back. Ohhhhhhh ........ The joys. Cheers Toto
Chillin out time ....... I have a recurring short on a certain stretch of track. Have not found it yet but I'm surmising it has something to do with a clash of polarity over a point. Maybe wrong. I have checked isolation gaps and they seem to be ok but I'll put a little more attention on it tomorrow night. Could have been doing it earlier tonight but just kicked back with a coffee or two and chatted to Paul on Skype in the shed. The convector heater was blasting away to take the chill out of the air which it did and I glued up my MDF loco building chassis using PVA whilst sitting there. The fault is the only thing I need to resolve and that's Luib Bridge fully operational. I'll soon be working on my canal basin installing sheet pile walls and goods landing platforms. I'll also wire for lights etc whilst I'm at it. The short video will come once I get the fault cleared. It won't win any BAFTA's but it'll let you see something running. Cheers Toto.
You`ll get it sorted Toto, That`s right up your street if I remember correctly.?? Looking forward to seeing something running http://www.clickGormo
Should get it resolved Gormo. It was working fine previously so it can only be something that I've added since. A good place to start anyway. Cheers Toto.
As some of the tracks were "adjusted", and you have been doing some vigorous cleaning - check the gaps on all the isolated sections, insert a piece of 10 thou plasticard at each joint, and open up any that are touching. Paul
Time to breakuot the jesus box, and start belling out all the track. Connect one cable to the V, the other to each stock rail - it should only buzz on the stock rail the point blade is touching, if the wrong stock rail is causing the buzzing, then disconnect the feed wire to the cobalt connection. Paul
Disconnect the wires until the buzzing stops, as you may be picking a feed up from else where - all part of the fun.
there is also a little section of track between the points that doesn't have its own track feed. It is relying on tacking a feed from one of the sets of points. I need to look at that as I think it has something to do with the issue. It's all in one interconnected area. I might post a picture or fifty to let you see what's going on. It's difficult to explain verbally. It will be something stupid Bourne out of the change in track work from the new Y point that's just been installed. All the rest was working fine before with no issues. Cheers Toto
It isn't one of the links from the frog to the point switch blade may have forgotten to be clipped off when the new point work was installed.??
You saw me take them out and ....... You soldered the extension onto the polarity cable that comes attached to the points.
Tomorrow is artificial Friday as its the Easter holiday weekend so back to the fault finding to get that out of the way. After I've rolled my Easter eggs of course.
