    Oops!!
Not good. I always save and shut down..

the signal box with it being made from around 36 separate files/items is on v68 !! (I think one file that is part of this model is on v18, but most of that is colour changes etc..

Having successfully drawn the latching mechanism for NER hopper doors, couldn't resist so the P3 hopper jumped up the print list and hey hoo presto, working hopper doors!

Lots of learning bits salted away, especially tolerances when trying to get working hinges. These must be over scale but previous attempts failed miserably and the old one (forgotten about on go one) Anycubic printers don't do small diameter holes very well, cut them over size. I still need to fit the monkey tails, but I make them out of brass wire and hand rail knobs with the body cropped away and have had to order some knobs.

Then just the rest of the thing to build now but for now very happy.

    Andy

Before I retried at the end of 2021 hadn't really done much for over 20 years, then I had a job involving a vast amount of overseas travel I used to take modelling gear with me and for the last 20 years plus travelling to and from Warrington every day 24k miles a year! Prior to all that 00 gauge and a bit of o gauge o its all been relearning what I had forgotten alongside 3d printing and Fusion 360. The last 2 all the fault of Mr Dundee. I must be mad!

    Hi all

I find any holes less than 0.6 dia tend to print filled, however the 0.6 does provide a nice pilot hole for a small drill to follow.

I need to try cleaning smaller printed holes with the Ultrasonic cleaner before curing as there may be resin in the small holes.
Recently saw a video where the wash n cure plastic bucket was placed into the cleaner, seemimgly the plastic passes the ultrasonic waves through better than glass.

On the subject of cleaning, I recently broke my Anycubic Fan Boy status and purchased an Elegoo Mercury X wash n cure.

    And i'm well impressed.

But I'll put up a new thread elsewhere.

Keep up the good work Mossy, and glad to see printed models

I'm still fighting my new toy and getting very variable results from it. The P3 needs replacement brake gear to get finished off which is attached to a full print of the S4 Hopper which keeps getting grrr errors. Sure I will get the hang of it eventually.

    Fusion?

For the last 2 days I have been getting Fusion off-line messages and can't generated any .stl files, has anyone else experienced the same?

    Hi Paul

I appear to be permanently stuck in off line mode and when try to flick the switch it just doesn't move. Any Ideas?

I had issues other day when trying to upload some files from 123design. All came up in the panel, pressed open on each file and nothing happened.
Had to shut down and restart my machine to get it to work.

not been on for about 5 days due to family.

I don’t think I’ve ever sliced a model in fusion yet!

For some reason, the gods of Fusion perhaps, all is working this morning, now back on line. Simply flicked the switch to on-line mode. Bizarre!

i haven't done much for the last 2 weeks - family matters. While at my son's in Manchester I logged on to Fusion and reviewed the P3 with working hopper doors. A light bulb moment, yes the doors worked but they wouldn't pass the wheels/axle, all the result of an invented hoppering so set about rebuilding the wagon. The lightbulb became a floodlight when I found a photo of a P3 and realised the solebar details were wrong as was both the end and side grab handles, a small change had just become a major rebuild which was done after a bit of brain fade.

The plan was then to retro fit hopper doors to the S2 and s4 ironstone hoppers, but being a cantankerous old ^&%$ instead I drew all the bits needed for a P4 hopper (the most numerous of all NER wagons, 20,000+). Sat in front of me are all the components needed to build one of each, that's for tomorrow fingers crossed. I'm going back to the S2 and S4 honest!

    Sadly Paul

You will have to wait. In the cold light of the day I found 3 more bits of the P3 I didn't like, and since the P4 was created using the P3 logic it has the same errors, I have them corrected and will be printing fresh copies today. Frustrating but I prefer them to be right rather than bodged.

A couple of days of rain would be nice I have all the P3 and P4 hopper parts sat in tubs waiting for assembly, but sunny weather means get outdoors so no time for building.
I did get this little beast prep'd and printed, the P1 hopper, its amazing how small it is and only 4 parts, the wagon above is a test print of the P3 hopper. Fiddling about in Chitu I found I could get 3 of them on the Mono X2 build plate, if I wanted more. I have also got an A1 AgImp prep'd for the printer, it's one of the first wagons I ever drew nearly 2 years ago so it will be good to finally see it printed I just need to order some 2' 9" wheels for it.

First chance to build anything for a while so I chose the simplest and easiest the P1 hopper, hopefully the P3 next.

I have a part built former Majestic models kit for one of these IMPS in my tool box. I use it for my demo piece when I build wagons rather than Locos at show demos
