Paul_L's 6 wheel Full Brake Coach build

    Fitted the second footboard, then opened up the holes in the sole bar to approx 1mm to take the lower footboard wires.

    Now on to the lower footboards

    These were cut out and bent to shape


    Jim suggests making up a jig with two strips of wood approx 2 inches apart

    They were then cut in half


    Next up these were put in to the bending bars



    Bent through 90 degrees and soldered up while still in the jig


    Tried out in the coach and aligned with the holes in the solde bar.

    These will need to be trimmed to length, but I will do that a little later, as nee to go off script and build up the compensation units ..... where did I put them away safely :facepalm:

    I'll be interested to see how you get on with these and the benefit of using them over the standard kit components. crack on Dundee.

    Well Dundee you and Toto are cooking on gas now... these coaches are really looking the part, lovely craftmanship there.:tophat::tophat::tophat::thumbup:

    The compensation units look fairly straight forward, but to check my coach is square my 2 inch square isn't big enough, so I've just ordered up a 6 inch square as I need to check up the center lines of each axle line up.

    So that's my excuse for doing nowt :avatar:
