    Hi Ron,

Yes a good break. I expected a bit of a heavy fortnight but in reality, it turned out quite the opposite and I must say I feel better for it. A bit of a stomach bug played havoc for a couple of days but a good detox period sorted that out.

It was very relaxing which is what we needed really. Maybe going back for a week in September. To be decided.

Glad to be back now though and am looking forward to getting myself back into the saddle and getting some progress in the shed.

Enjoying your thread Ron. The change in location etc makes things a bit different. I was a little surprised to see you go down this particular road. Very enjoyable.

    Toto

Gormo, I'm guessing that Ron has seen the value in the North American models. You can pick up a very nice model quite cheaply and if you wish to put sound into it, you don't need to break the bank... ;) The US stuff is very affordable indeed !

    Cheers, Gary.

Those 2 loco's both DCC fitted came to £85 inc P&P and the reason is, it's completely different to Sheringbourne. It's 100% freight as opposed to Sheringbourne 98% passenger and will be portable as well! :)

Today I have been fitting 6x6 lots of magnets and painting the rail on the operators side yellow and fitting a plough on front of the GP35. I have also emulsioned the new board that will join the existing one.

Gormo that's probably only 2 wagons with some of those great big US trucks, you would get at least 8 4 wheelers may be more in the same space, probably the only draw back with a US plank that isn't set in the very early steam period is the big truck the jump from 20ft to 40ft and then 50-60ft trucks tend to take up a bit of space.

Hi Tom, 8 feet x 9 ins, once I get the cork underlay down I'll use 3 wooden dowls and a pair of over-centre clips to join and align them.
I need to sort out some legs too, Gary has provided me with the sizes for that.
    Cheers
