Onwards and upwards as they say. A great start to the new plonk.

Gormo has recently purchased the Moedl Railway Scenery low relief factory to which he will be modifying to a relief/low relief building, anotherwords printing out multiple copies and overlaying them for relief.

The Scalescenes kits are great for bashing, but some thought needs to go into it before you start gluing sections/parts together.

    Cheers, Gary.

    Hi Ian

Have you filled the cavity with sound deadening material under the upper level baseboard?

Cheers Gary/Reidy ... the Scalescenes kits dont worry me too much ... ish ... its the model scenery one I'm a bit concerned about the instructions are not as precise as the others ... however it always seems to work out ... ish ... ref the sound deadening Reidy all the track is on Peco ballast underlay so hopefully this will be ok ... I also have a plan to sink the lower level track into cobbles/ tarmac ... ish

Cracking on with the new layout Ian. Must have been hard to work indoors with that wet weather :avatar: very inconvenient

At least you had enough Tinto to get you changing the plan again:lol::lol::lol:

Hi Chris yep very inconvenient and on top of that the other 5/8ths has asked me to meet her in a bar (appropiately called the 'rack and ruin') after her writing club meeting ... oh well I supose sacrifices have to be made ...

Component pieces ready for assembly ... I retract the mention of the instructions being difficult or otherwise ... could have this done in a couple of days but visitors in town tomorrow so will have to wait

Progress on the MRS factory (brewery) building its actually a nice kit with great detail although I did leave the optional window sills off as they were no different to the ones printed on the main page and lifes to short sometimes ... I've also altered 2 of the lower windows into sliding doors as this is now going to be the loading unloading dock/disribution warehouse for reasons that will become apparent later. Still the roof, 1 sidewall 1 extension and loading platform to build.

Another smaller building (research lab/offices) to go alongside the original ... its a measure of how good the kit is in that it only took 40mins including drying time. Roof capping next then loading platform + detailing.

Going slightly but not literally 'off piste' ... whilst enjoying a 2 night break in Fuengerola I visited a model shop and although there were no railway related items I have managed to pick up some humbrol paints a couple of sheets of Styrene and a length of balsa ... so quite pleased as they're all items I've wanted to use at various times.
