Do wildcats exist in the part of Scotland you're basing your layout on? If so capturing the aroma of natural scents through cat litter could well be the next logical development in DCC operation
Ferral cats. ..... that's it ....... spray your layout with cats pi....... Nah...... that's going to far.
I don't need a ferral cat, if the resident cat noticed I've used cat litter he'll probably oblige For the Buckie, I've used the Scalescene Weighbridge /Coal office as a basis, printed at 176% onto A3 paper Stuck onto 5mm foam board, and roughly assembled I extended the walls approx 6mm to allow me to cut it into the ground Paul
Looks fine Paul. Great location as well with a little natural jetty for a rowing boat. A little log shed outside maybe. Very fitting for the location.
A little more work done Rolled out some clay to about 2mm thick, then used the embossing roller. I coated the foam board with glue stick, then added the embossed clay the door end and the chimney stack still to do once the clay has hardened a bit to stop me destroying the brick pattern. Paul
One of the easiest buildings I've made so far, mind you I've still got the end wall with door cutout and the chimney to do.
That's very life like already Paul, bet it will look great with all the paint layers applied. I take it you are giving it a stone or slate roof?
Cheers Paul 2nd coat plus the black wash, I did attempt the dry brushing but the wash isn't dry enough yet Early night then Paul
Looks really good but the one thing that bothers me slightly is that it's very close to the rock colouring. Now.... that might work for it in as much as the stone may well have been sourced locally and would match the local rock colour. Let's face it, if you have an abundance of it on your doorstep...... why go anywhere else. I think I have just created a circular argument with myself ....... twat....... Forget the above ...... it's excellent.
I feel the need to explain my stupid post above. Originally what was going through my thick as mince brain was that I would have liked to have seen a break in the grey colour that is there in abundance with the rock face. Just a little something different to break the grey up. But ....... realised the errors of my way half way through the post ...... which I should have never posted ...,,,, idiot ........ come on ........ gather round everyone ....... Toto is being a prat........ again..... Note to self ......... stop scoring own goals ....... diddy
Your stone work is looking good. Your weren't a stone mason in your last life, were you ?? Cheers, Gary.
