Building Laser cut kits and dioramas

    Track weathering on Severn tunnel east this will be the up Line ( to London )

    The down line will be dirtier, as it still the original bull head rail, goods trains would be braking hard down the grade.
    Typical but I've just run out of the JLTRT track dirt but I'm collecting more next weekend. The nozzle on their spray is directional so you can spray down the track centre without the need to mask. Mask later to add the brown dirt on the rail sides.

    Built this permenant way hut today, this is from the Intentio range. Lovely little kit. This might find a home on the project after Severn tunnel east

    Will look better once the T section is on and it's been weathered.

    Like the difference between the flatbottom rail, and clips (rear), and the bullhead and chairs (front).

    Is the ballast colour " buff ". great colour for highlighting oil stains and diesel etc.

    Here's what the retaining walls will look like. This is high quality printed paper from Kirtley models.
    The ballast is a buff colour, it does dry a few shades darker then when it's new.

    That is some severly weathered walling, very effective.

    Both boards bolted together today so I can finalise the ballast. Line side buildings temporarily in place and the concrete trunking and signalling cable glued down. I still have to clean away the PVA residue then it's on to track weathering

    Time to turn Severn tunnel east50 shades of green!!
    I will start by dying the teddy bear fur with green & yellow poster paints.
