Sounds like you have a solid plan. Now, you better get onto it, those little people can't access platform 2 !! Cheers, Gary.
Well Gary.....I have a plan.....solid.?????.....maybe.???? Anyway I got onto it as you suggested.!!! The central part of the bridge has been fitted with it`s trim. I have since found that this is the easy part.!!! It has it`s floor stuck in place and some temporary formers to help it keep it`s shape. I am pleased I`ve taken the plunge into kit bashing this one because I can see a marked improvement in the look of it already. Clearances are good......this little pannier.....believe it or not is my tallest loco because of it`s tall chimney. I have just finished trimming the first side wall.......my eyes couldn`t take any more today......maybe later I`ll do a bit more. Must watch Grand Designs first.!!!! And here is the cruel close up of how it`s going. More as it happens.!! http://www.clickGormo
Looks good Gormo. Just a thought, but if you're going to ballast the track through the station, it will probably be easier before you fix any buildings in place. (You've probably thought of that anyway, but I just thought I'd just mention it after merrily starting on my OLE and then realising I needed to get the back scene and station scenics done first ) Ed
G`day Ed, Thanks for mentioning it. It`s easy to get carried away with the enthusiasm of the moment and forget the basics. A reality check from time to time is good and much appreciated. http://www.clickGormo
G`day Folks, The footbridge build is moving forward at the usual snails pace being allocated an hour here and an hour there occasionally. I have made a rod for my own back again by kit bashing this model, however the early results are pleasing. After researching the net, I`ve settled on a method for creating my own corrugated roofing. Corrugated seems to be the norm for most of this type of building so it makes sense to go down that route and it really suits the model. I have had two unsuccessful attempts at materials for the job, but the penny dropped this afternoon and I`ve created some very good samples as test pieces. Good enough to start adding sections to the kit roof. I should be able to put some pics up in the next couple of days once I get some family matters sorted out. More as it happens http://www.clickGormo
Sounds interesting ?? Now this corrugated iron wouldn't involve two large bolts and some aluminium foil ?? Cheers, Gary.
Looks great Gormo. As for the cruel close ups ........ When are they coming ? They all looked spot on to me. Toto
G`day Folks, Thanks for the comments. Gary.....no bolts involved in this one mate......I know you probably expect me to come up with my own little rolling mill for the corrugated iron, but it`s really quite a lot simpler than that. I think I`ll probably wack it into Gormo`s Shed this week and that will cover it properly. http://www.clickGormo
Or bring out the spaggetti Two pieces of card with strips of spaggetti stuck to each card to produce two interlocking half, and sandwich the foil between them. Paul
No Paul......you`re not even warm. http://www.clickGormo........just typed Gromo....why do I keep doing this????...dyslexia ?????..old age creeping on????.......blimey!!!!!
gormo wrote: Gormo you have got us all waiting now to see what magic the "Great Gormo" comes up with for the roof.
OK Chris, Sorry mate!!!.....carry on lad!!! http://www.clickGormo........off to the shed to make a video.
Looks like you have us all intrigued Gormo... Knowing you Gormo, the answer is probably starring every modeller in the face ! Cheers, Gary. ps. bicycle spokes...??
Strangely enough, today was spag bol for tea, however I had to make an emergency intervention, the boss and her apprentice (my daughter) were about to use the fine spaggetti - had to rescue my source of drainpipes The coarse stuff may get rescued for soil pipes. Paul
Ah !!!!!....I see I will have to be careful where I tread in this subject. Oh...and Gary....I haven`t forgotten about your suggestion re the bicycle spokes, I just can`t seem to find the right pattern at the moment. I`ve looked at a few of those things you recommended, however nothing is jumping out at me at the moment. I need to trawl Vinnies or the Salvos to find something old and quality I think. ...the Scottish lads must be wondering what I`m talking about.....Vinnies....the Salvos.....etc. etc. etc......Paul is probably doing a Google search right now... So lads!!!!.....and especially Paul.....this weeks Gormo`s Shed, Episode 20, Corrugated Roofing....is complete and sitting on the Editors desk ready for upload. It will be a Friday special as usual. http://www.clickHave a nice day......Gormo
