    Hi

I received some L Cut laser kits today which I hope to incorporate into Highbridge. There is a coal stage that may fit in. If not, it will come in handy else where.

Some arched workshop fronts are up for grabs as well so they will be ready for when my current wave of tasks have been completed.

I hope to be home at a reasonable time tomorrow to allow me some time in the she tomorrow night. I have some brick card to finish off before tackling Cobalts and electrics.

    Looking forward to getting home.

    Cheers

    Ok,

Home, fed and watered. It's shed time. I'm just clearing the memory on the camera to get rid of the last shots taken then it's time to complete the brick paper on the last two abutments.

I've decided that the main warehouse building is going to be the new Scalescenes industrial warehouse. Well ......... A bastardised version of it in order to fit the available plot.

    I'll down
Lad that when I come in later tonight. I may also buy some concrete sheets to form the loading bay as it may be quite a big area. Brass masters windows are also looking good as are their caged ladders.

    Cheers for now

    Toto.

    Hi,

Abutments done. I still have to do the concrete bearing slab and do something with the corners. However, tomorrow is Cobalts and electrics. I'll return to the concrete parts later.

here is a couple of pictures with tonights progress.

This is where I left off.

Then I got started on the first abutment,

    Then the second,

and another shot of the two.

I have some polystyrene board that I will maybe use to bring up the embankment lever and form. It's a bit battered as its been in the boot of the car for a while but that wont matter as it will get covered with a coat of plaster anyway.

    More from the shed tomorrow.

    cheers

    Toto

Yes, bit by bit. I'm going to get the electrics going and the points operational before going any further as I'll be hitting the ballasting etc before long. No point in doing that before test running in case any of the track needs tweaking etc.

That's tomorrow job. I might even get a loco running ...... Oooooo. :avatar:

    cheers

    Great Engineering Works there Toto,
Polystyrene is good for land forms because as you say you cover it with plaster anyway.

    Hi Ron,

You could be in luck. I'm gunning for that landmark today no matter how basic.

Just been out for a Lionel Blair cut. Back home now and SWMBO has got the brekkie fired up. Then it's the shed.

I'll post up any progress later.

    Cheers

    Toto.

    ok,

i will try and post here. My machine has become infested with pop up ware yet again and its proving difficult to operate without interuptions.

anyway, I've been in the shed and done a few bits and bobs. First of all I started installing Cobalts ...... 3 nr.

there we go, three cobalts duly installed. Now to wire them up.

    A slightly better shot.

The Red and black cables that you see spanning the length of the baseboard is the track BUS from which all track feeds come and the positive and negative which gives the polarity feed for the point frog.

    As you will see below,

each Cobalt has a grey and green to the extreme outside terminals ( push back type ). that is terminals number one and eight which is the main supply to the cobalt. They are directed back through the switch 8 ( control gubbins which you will see later ) back through the track BUS to the NCE controller.

There is also a white ( polarity switch ) which goes to terminal 4 of the Cobalt which is the common for switch one of the Cobalt, and a red and a black which come from the track BUS and go to trminals two and three on the Cobalt ( switch 1 ). These supply EITHER a positive or negative polarity to the point frog through the switch depending on which way the Cobalt is set.

The red and black soldered to the track BUS and the white ( polarity switch wire ) disappearing through the baseboard up to the point frog.

The soldered joints on the track BUS taped up so there is no chance of flashing over with a short.

I decided to install a further couple of timber supports onto the baseboard in order to support the base cover and provide more fixing points. it should also prevent it from flexing with any moisture. It will get a coat of varnish to seal it.

The wee cubby where I shall hide the switch 8 and connections for protection.

And there is the culprit below.

And it will fit in nicely. i a bit length on the vables so they can be brought out when working on the switch 8.will leave

Thats it for now. I intend to try and get connected up later today. We'll see, but if not, it will be tomorrow. I'll maybe be back on later with any updates but at the rate that this machine is being taken over ....... I wont guarantee it.

Hope the above has been of interest for now.

    cheers

    Toto
