I know I should be soldering droppers etc. but decided to move the coal plant from the goods yard to a new spot near the station and extend it! Cheers Ron
Big decision made tonight! I found the bridge (as originally placed) got in the way of manipulating stock in the fiddle yard SO; a new bridge is going to be built as per the second photo. This is where the bridge is at Sheringhan station and will give me more room in the fiddle yard!
Bridge started today (after finishing the bathroom at last!). 9 and 6mm MDF to start with. I will add the extra brickwork when I've started the brick papering! I already have the girder parapets from Weybourne!
The new location of the bridge possibly makes for a better scenic break as well. It is a very high bridge too, which would definitely help with track cleaning. Cheers, Gary.
I would recommend running the backscene (if you intend using one) right around the corner to where the fiddle yard statrts. This way the scene runs around behind the bridge giving some continuity. You could even curve the backscene with some card so you don't have a hard corner. Cheers, Gary.
G`day Ron, You`re really cracking on with the build. I agree with Gary`s suggestion about curving the backscene around behind the bridge to the fiddleyard. From the station end it will look seamless. http://www.clickGormo
But my idea is to cover up the corner from the bridge with a break painted sky coloured. I will do a mock up and photograph it later. This sort of idea (excuse the poor Photoshopping!)
Fair enough Ron, I can see that......and obviously it will disguise the fiddle yard and lead your eye away from the train disappearing under the bridge....got it.!!!...... http://www.clickGormo
Thanks, yes been busy building the new bridge and supports etc.. Also added the scenic break.Still a wall or two to build and detailing to do. CheersRon
Sure does Ian! Added some greenery today, more to do but I must get the platforms sorted! (after I finish painting the kitchen!)
