I've been putting some thought into point control ... and as usual there are not many hardware solutions readily available so ... I noticed these in the local 'sell everything' Chinese shop .. hollow metal knitting needles. They have both advantages and a disadvantage .. thus ... advantages; .. they have handles already attached .. buying 2 consectutive sizes ie 2.0mm and 3mm .. the smaller becomes the rod and the larger a snug fitting tube. However now the disadvantage; .. because they are hollow they distort and fracture when bent .. but this can be overcome by inserting/gluing some wire into the part to be bent (much like a plumber does when bending copper pipe). As enough to operate 8 points cost only £3.60p they are worth a go so will let you know how I get on when I fit them ...

Ok ... point control rod prototype tested and works fine .. the actual layout rod will be shorter and because I've laid cork/cardboard base and the track will be on Peco underlay the wire connecectors will fit fine ...

Talking of 'Southern pull', saw this the other day...

don't think it would fit on a plank though.

Lucky find with the knitting needles Ian

We will have a vacancy in the Gormo Eng. Dept. Research and Development team shortly, so if you`re interested, just let me know. One of my blokes is off to build the Mexican wall so that the Mexicans can keep Trump out of Mexico......:headbanger::avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

Chinese talking Spanish just doesn`t seem right ......Mama Mia.....yeah I know that`s Italian but holy cow Ian.....what a crazy mixed up world we live in.....at least you`ve got your Tinto to keep you on a moderate and steady course..... and rightly so Sir!!!!

The Chinese shops are famous in Spain for selling a vasr diversity of items from saftey pins to toys, stationary, tools, garden hoses, electrical .. etc etc .. but being of Chinese origin you cant expect top quality and we shy away from electricals. As for Toto I can barely understand him in his native tongue god forbid he breaks out into Spanish. This picture might give you a further clue as to the build ...
