Pete It's probably more to do with it being the new toy on the block The models are big, but not too surprisingly big, however its the track that has really struck me, I suppose the same will happen when I get round to figures. ... Ian thanks, this one will be a big un, especially as I'm doing it in 1 block - glutton for punnishment or what Paul
Used race radio controlled cars with the young lad, once he learned to control the red mist I stood no chance and was relegated to mechanic - less embarassing, although he did become scottish junior champion, so the mechanicing mustn't have been too bad. Live steam near card board mmmmmm maybe pass on that one Paul
A little progress today - must admit I have been distracted playing with the big yuns Oh well maybe get my act together a bit better in the morning Paul
Ahhh????? Too many irons in the fire Paul.......maybe Toto could lend a hand ?????....he`s not busy!!! http://www.clickGormo
Ahead of you there mate, he already is making Low Relief Structures for the backscene, and appears to be enjoying himself to the point where he reckons he can swan off and make some for himself - we'll soon sort that out Paul
Yeah .....keep onto him Paul......don`t let him get distracted. The audit is coming up at the end of the month and everybody on the forum has to show their improvements and results for the last three months. 13 days to go????? http://www.click Gormo
That's all I need, an audit on the railway, on top of all the others at work as well Don't know if this will answer a question you were asking of Ianvolvo, re-wrapping of scalscene paper. For these buildings I glued the brick paper over the front side, then cut the top and bottom edges of each window, then down the middle The flaps are then wrapped round - scoring the fold line can help produce a sharper corner. Paul
Thanks Paul, Very helpfull......I`ve been having a look at it this afternoon. It will have to be approached in a slightly different way to a normal Scalescenes build, due to the fact that the Metcalfe kits modules may have four bends in the one module. Therefore you can`t lay Scalescenes paper over the whole flat module and then bend it because the bend actaully increases the length of the paper required. So I think I `ve come up with a way to do it by dividing the modules up into smaller sections. I`ve dry fitted some paper and it really makes a difference. It`s the way to go but the build will take a lot longer than normal. Should be worth it for something a bit more GWR like. Sorry for the hijack. http://www.clickGormo
Bit more progress today - stayed away from the O gauge stuff Started on the building frame And with the front .... Paul
Hi Paul, Looking great. Another fantastic bespoke model for Victoria Road. I can see everyone clambering for Mr Wiffens kits. It pretty amazing what can be achieved with them...... Must be true when I'm having a go. Cheers Toto
This feels like watching paint dry ....... Carried on the build for the internal walls A quick shot with the walls in place Paul
They're coming along quite nicely. While you at it, could I have a couple of 150' long industrial warehouses in HO scale for Jack's layout ?? I'll give you the heads up, one needs to be a furniture factory.... Cheers, Gary.
Toto's on industrial stuff at the moment, I'm on domestic and light commercial , i'll pass o0n the request Paul
My efforts wouldn't match the existing quality I'm afraid. Paul will just need to work harder and faster ........ That's all there is too it. ..... C'mon Paul, get thy finger out.l people are waiting now. Cheers Toto
Well a day off today, to take SWMBO for a hospital appointment - brownie points Made a start on the sills and lintels Top left is the sill / lintel as cut out, I then go around the edge with a Spectrum Noir BG2 alcohol marker pen, these leech into the paper so look like staining on the stone. These are then stuck onto the front. And folded over .... only 20 on this side Time to get the boss up - letting her lie in as its a fasting test. Paul
