The last piece of trackwork was completed today.
A catchpoint was added to the Loco servicing siding in order to protect the Mainline and an ash pit installed.

The whole Layout was fully tested with prototypical running and shunting moves.....all passed with flying colours.

I'm very happy that all the trackwork performed faultlessly.

As Kimbo has suggested I will investigate Macro Routes in order to set up planned moves.

    Cheers,
    Geoff.

    A bit more progress.....
The backdrop frame is on together with the back scene.
The back scene is a Haskell product of an Australian country scene which is perfect for what I need.
It had some ripples at one end, but I carefully removed a portion of it and re stuck it.
No ripples now, so all good.

I weathered the sleepers and next step is to paint the rail sides.

I will then make a start on the lighting frames.... 023.JPG

This is coming along great...Thanks for posting up the question on apposing point electrickery. I now have a mission to replace a pile of troublesome sections that need a better solution. Mistakes made from purchasing second hand on my behalf.
Keen to see more progress...the ash pit is awesome...Cheers for posting up.

    Kind regards
    Chris

    Thanks for your comments Chris.

Once you get used to the NCE Powercab point motor operation, it's pretty easy to operate.
I think the trick is having them all throw the same way, ie, press button 1 for N (Normal) and 2 for R (Reverse).
That way for can see which way they have to go for a chosen route.
It took a bit of research on my part to work out how to reset them, but once I found out how to do it, it was easy.

Setting up Macro routes was also a big help because one press of a button and all selected points on a route all change together.
An example is my passing loop. it has 4 points that need to be changed in order to use it.
A press of one button, changes all 4 points at the one time.....brilliant.
I've set up 5 Macros for different route applications.

    Cheers,
    Geoff.

I am using the NCE Power Cab to change the points.
I have 9 points on the Layout and I had Number Plates for each point 3D printed. These plates will be attached to the fascia in line with each point. That way, Operators will know which point to change for a selected route.

I painted the outer edge and number of each Plate in white as the fascia is flat black. This way, they stand out. 070.JPG

The trees have been removed so more Scenery can be added.
Point rodding has also been added to the Service Road.
The rodding serves the point and the catch point 038.JPG

I posted some pics on the Facebook Group also, but I thought I'd keep this Thread going with some updates for anyone who is interested.

    Thanks Gary....

I've taken a lot of inspiration from your Videos and the explanations you give.
I had never done scenery before, so it's been a steep learning curve for me but I'm slowly getting there.

    Cheers,
    Geoff.

For a newcomer to creating scenery, you have done a superb job. I admire your use of the NCE system to control points as it must be fascinating to operate. Not suitable for my Dargan layout as it is blessed with 37 points.

    Cheers

    and happy modelling

    Hi Guys,

It's been a while since my last Post but I've been working through to complete the Layout.

Late last year I decided to make a change to the Layout and add a Pivot Transverser. for added operations.

That also necessitated a change to the scenery on the other side of the Road Bridge. 145.JPG 152.JPG

The Traverser is 1 meter long which is long enough to store a Loco, 4 or 5 4 wheel wagons and a Guards Van.

It is a 4 track Traverser, 2 for the mainline and 2 for an Industry Road. 140.JPG 143.JPG 153.JPG
