I haven't been around for a while, but I will say that the scenery is looking very good indeed.
The colours you have chosen blend directly into the back scene, something that a lot of modellers can not achieve effectively. Top job ! :tophat:

    Cheers, Gary.

A lovely piece of merging between fore and background, especially the tall grass, I think that is the most difficult scenic effect to pull off:tophat:

The new scenic section is nearing completion. There are some more detail items to add, but the bulk of the scenic work is done. 075.JPG 050.JPG 076.JPG 077.JPG

Well after nearly 3 years of toiling away on Yarrawa, the Layout is finally finished.
The front curtain is being finished by my good wife as we speak.
The lighting pelmets and name board are attached and it's looking pretty good, even if I say so myself.

It's been an enjoyable journey, at times tough, but I've certainly learnt a lot, having never built a Layout before....

Over the next couple of days I'll post up some final cameo shots of some scenes on the Layout.

It's being exhibited in early May 2024 at a major Model Railway Exhibition in Sydney, so wish me luck.....I might need it.

    Cheers,
    Geoff. 078.JPG

This is the first of some cameo shots....The Goods Shed.

Modelu figures from the UK, that I hand painted. They are superbly made. thumbnail_IMG_6477.jpg thumbnail_IMG_6479.jpg thumbnail_IMG_6480.jpg
The truck is a 1934 Ford tabletop that is a white metal kit by Wheel Works for the US.
The Yard Crane is a kit manufactured by Uneek Models in Australia.

Really brings it to life, realisticly painted in subdued tones, can almost feel that the guy sweeping the boards is just re-arranging the dust

Must get all my crew out of their packets and onto my ghost town of a layout, no excuses, we'll see :whatever:

The year is 1964 and the Goods Shed Foreman is pretty pleased with himself, having just purchased a brand new XM
Ford Falcon Coupe. Alpine White with an Onyx Black roof. thumbnail_IMG_6525.jpg

Produce has arrived at the Yarrawa Packing Shed from a local Grower, using his 1961 TK Bedford Table Top Truck.
The Produce will be collected later in the day to be then transferred by train to Darling Harbour in Sydney. thumbnail_IMG_6524.jpg

A couple of pics of the Drum Platform and Tanker discharge siding.
Empty drums have been delivered by a 1934 Ford Pickup from a local business.
The model is a "The Wheel Works" white metal kit. thumbnail_IMG_6523.jpg thumbnail_IMG_6526.jpg

Final shots of Yarrawa, as a 19 Class Locomotive, 1903, waits at the Home Signal before being allowed to enter the
    Yarrawa Station precinct.

Well that's about it for the Layout.
I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words and encouragement during the course of the construction of the Layout.
It meant a lot to me.

    Happy Modelling.....

    Cheers, Geoff.
