So here is t'other side of Owen Glendower, lining transfers now on and once they have cured awhile I'll tamp them down with Microsol then varnish, the backhead and reverser is now ready to be fitted and the cab interior has been painted too, the glazing is complete and for now I've decided to leave the fireman's side sliding window open.

Cab now decorated and backhead glued in with Araldite, the reverser pedestal in place too. The loco body is just loosely placed on the chassis for the purpose of this photo, tomorrow I'll varnish the loco and fasten the chassis in place so we will have a nice level engine... so this one is over the line now and if the weather is good I'll set up the scenic diorama in the garden and take a few portrait pics, anyway enough of burning midnight oil tomorrow we will see the loco presented for the final time.

Just for a moment there I thought you’d dropped the model on the cab :faint::facepalm:
Then the penny dropped.....the cab curtains :giggle:

From studying photographic evidence of standard loco's fitted with curtains it seems they didn't fair that well in service, many hanging loose and ripped... presumably the tie rings got torn from the canvas or the canvas folds just wore through. This is the appearance I am looking for and with the tender coupled close a good sense of realism becomes apparent, but yes in earlier conversations it has been said a heavy hammer might sort things out.:avatar:

Well that's me done with work on this loco so far as this competition is concerned... I'm out of time and out of good weather for a photo shoot as I'd originally hoped, anyway its still has atmospheric charm as as the misty skyline and low light started to blow in fine rain.

Enjoy and thanks everyone for following this build, the super fine weathering and detailing will have to be done on a better day with good light.

Side shot of the draught curtain... must reposition the drivers sliding window as it has slipped a bit.

And the overhead view showing the roof apron cover.
