Needs fettling, then some weathering and a good test run, however if the Lima 4F current draw is within the TCS T1 capabilities then the decoder will be relocated.

The Rear cab was an etching I picked up a a railway show 20 odd years ago.

Nice 4F Paul and second the tender cab like from Toto really individualises the loco.

Nothing wrong with the old H&M Duette with having the selectable settings you can get nice control with the Duette:thumbs:

OK OK enough procrastinating, I've found the controller wired it up, and also fitted two multimeters, one in series to measure the current consumtion and the other to measure the voltage.

    :drums::drums::drums::drums:

    It ran first time

You tube link 4F first run

Testing in both directions the highest current I could pull while pushing down on the loco to force a stall was 0.6A so the T1 decoder will work fine.

That's great news Paul, well within the capacity of the TCS T1 so I guess it's full steam ahead now.

    Good demonstration video, :tophat:

    Cheers Chris

I was surprised how well it ran, as all the bits i'd seen online reconed nothing happened until you gave it 7V then it was off like a rocket. So with a DCCD decoder taming it down and extra pickups on the tender it should be a reasonable runner (I hope).

But it was fun to get it going.

Just home from helping Toto set up for the Glenrothes show, looks like loco no.2 could be heading home to Dundee tomorrow, a wee Terrier, if it behaves it self, it could find a new home :avatar:

Which kinda points to the S & D for my layout, stock so far 1 x 4F, 2 x GWR 7 plank wagons and maybe a BR black Terrier.

This bug can be sore, especially on the wallet, but the finacial controller was present while the drooling, petted lip and sad eyes all came out to play :avatar:

Anyone have one of these Dapol terriers and if so what decoder would you recommend.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/BRdownunder/ Scroll down just a little, you'll spot the pics.

    Cheers, Gary.

mmmmmm....., and on the S&D in BR time I could have a 9F + 1 coach running a parlimentary, could just about fit that in a 4ft module - after I sold the house to but the 9F a 4ft module would also have to have living accomodation built in or under :avatar:

Your a goner Paul loco No2 it's a slippery down hill slope from here soon it will be more wagons, a guards van but hold on when you decide on a coach then it gets expensive :faint:
At least with a terrier a one coach train looks good

Sorry re the decoder the one my dad has is DC only.
